I know it’s been a while since my last post and that is on me. I may have missed posting, however I have not missed working out. Okay, okay, I may have missed a few weeks, BUT, but I have good, legitimate reasons. I missed out on about two weeks because my daughters and wife felt it was necessary to share their cold flu. It was pretty awful if I must say so myself.
I was doing so well at not catching it. I went for two weeks with them sick and me being just fine. Then, one night, I’m just hanging out and then I start feeling the “scratchy throat” symptom with a touch of light headedness. Low and behold I caught their crud . I tried working out the first day of each week while I had this lovely virus in my system and it was not a good idea. It just made me feel worse. So I thought it best just to hold out till I started feeling better. When I finally did I was able to workout for three days and then it was off to Mississippi to visit my family and pick up my son. That was an entire week of no working out and my diet was on hold till I got back home.
So I had some slip ups , I may of had a chocolate chip cookie or two, what can I say… I’m back now though and I’m starting a whole new program. The days of 21 Day Fix are now behind me and I’m moving on to bigger and better things, still maintaining the diet though.
22 Hard Corps is next on the docket. I planned on doing Hammer and Chisel, but I have yet to get the equipment necessary for the routines. It was a last minute decision on my part and it’s the current program my wife is doing, so it’s something we can do together which is nice. Plus, the workouts are only 22 minutes long! Being that I come from a military background, the cadence is nice. Much better than that “workout minute” stuff. I’ll probably do Hammer and Chisel after I get through with 22 Hard Corps, at least that is the plan for now. Don’t worry Autumn, we will meet again.
I’m sorry, I don’t have an update on progress for this post. With the three weeks of missed workouts and the delicious country cookin’ I had last week, not much progress has been made honestly. I feel great though and I am very much looking forward to this workout routine. Also, my wife and I will be going on hikes this summer and bike rides through some of these great Colorado trails. I’m really looking forward too doing that with her. I’ll be sure to take some selfies and nature picks for my posts about them.
One last thing before I go. I wanted to share something my 12 year old son did for me. I asked him some time ago to draw me up a logo for this site. Here is what my 12 year old son drew up for me:
Isn’t this awesome! He did such a great job with this and I’m very proud of him. I just wanted to share that with everyone and mention how proud I am of this picture he drew.
Until next time, stay true and push through.
